Diedes custom Novio project part 1.

As a satisfied SS50 rider and regular at the Four-Stroke Barn, I had been thinking about building something to my own taste from scratch for a while. When I heard that at school for the course CKV (more info: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culturele_en_kunstzinnige_vorming)we had to make something artistic, it could be anything, think of making music, painting, claying etc., I thought about my custom moped plan again. My teacher liked it, provided I added a photo report.

That’s when I started thinking. What basis would I take? What’s to look like? Where do I get the money and where can I do jobs? An SS, CD or C is beautiful in itself, so I didn’t want to get into that. A Dax, Monkey or Chaly have pimped so many people. An ugly moped, which has not been rebuilt by others very often: a Novio!

Despite the fact that a Noof is not that expensive, unfortunately I still didn’t have enough money to buy one and adjust it to my own taste, until one Saturday at the Fourstrokebarn Kjell I told about it. He reacted enthusiastically and wanted to deliver the parts to me, but he would sell the moped himself. So I shouldn’t be keeping him. Actually, that’s not such a problem, because only one moped fits in my parents’ shed. So I started brainstorming and made a plan. It should be something like that. A little Hot Rod-like as in this photo:

The frame is going to turn matt black, there will be a thick rear fender, red rims with shiny black spokes and a thick upside down fork. Lower feathers, a leather saddle and a thick homemade exhaust complete the mess. There will also be a C50AT block underneath for more power.

I started building on December 6th. Kjell had another Novio frame with license plate under which I have now hung an SS rear fender. Of course, that’s almost nothing, but I hope to be done with the Noof in a month or two or three.
